Dubstep Granny VS B-Boy Battle

A massive nod to Ray Harryhausen (a known Dubstep fan...) We were asked to contribute a funny piece to a charity fundraiser, and took the opportunity to try out some new techniques and generally have a laugh. Thanks to Paul and Gaz from Cypher productions for dancing in this piece.

Analogue Systems

A short dynamic web intro created for our good friends Analogue Systems. The piece is designed to excite and intrigue but not to get in the way of visitors to the site. The visual and audio acknowledge the wide range of musical and other sounds which can be created using this very powerful equipment.

Jorvik Viking Centre

We were asked by Jorvik Viking Centre to create a character animation which would depict an alternative view of the Vikings and also engage a young audience. An overblown filmic intro exaggerates the stereotypical view to be smashed by the story that follows. Music and sound design were equally important in achieving the impact of the pivotal moment in the film.

Upfaders - cutting edge music production project

Technology Transplant

This piece was shot in very low light to clearly demonstrate the dramatic effect that Technology Transplant LED upgrade kits achieve. An animated tonearm represents the extra functionality that the companies modifications can give to your product.

Coffee Ad

A very clean and commercial aesthetic has been used in this piece to keep focus on the product. A pure white set was used to give a fresh, high-end feel that is suited to the target market and audience.

Gallery Banner

We asked ourselves "If Giulianas work came to life, how would it move ?" A beautifully simple and peaceful web-banner created for local artist Giuliana Lazzerini. Taking creative direction from Giuliana's distinctive style and gently welcoming visitors to the site without adding noise.

We're in!!! New FilmsMusicandThat HQ....

We are delighted to announce that we have now moved into our very own premises in York city centre. Dating back to 1832 and built as the Guard House for the local Militia Depot, the building has been lovingly renovated during the summer to provide a large space that is flooded with natural light and high quality equipment, providing the perfect enviroment for creativity.

From this space we will be working on a wide range of music, film, animation and installation commissions as well as our own pet projects and of course running our successful public participation projects "Biomation" and "Upfaders"

We will be having a launch event soon, so we hope to see you there - but in the meantime, here's a reminder what we do!.....

Music Production (Commissions, Tuition, Practice Facility, Participatory Projects): Hardware and software based production systems using software to suit all levels from beginners to pro's and a mouthwatering analogue hardware studio featuring classic synths and drum machines.

DJ (Tuition, Participatory Projects, Practice Facility): Yorkshires best DJ training/practice facility includes the best equipment available and can cater for groups of up to 6 people to practice or jam simultaneously. We have Vinyl, CD, Serato, Grooveboxes, top quality scratch mixers and a wide range of music in all formats.

Animation (Commissions, Participatory Projects): We specialise in traditional stop-motion animation and have generated quite a catalogue of films now ranging from from abstract shorts to longer stories featuring many hand-crafted characters and sets. Animation is a very effective to engage wide audiences, to communicate your message and engage a wider audience as well as being accessible to all ages, making it an ideal medium for group projects.

Film-making (Commissions, Participatory Projects): We have broadcast quality capture and edit facilities and have produced many pieces for broadcast/publishing from short ads to full programmes, documentaries and films. We always look for a creative way to present the subject and strive to see every job through a fresh pair of eyes and ears so that we avoid formulaic results.

Multimedia Installations: Our diverse creative background have given us significant experince of 3D design, product design, architecture, interior design, graphic design, music production, electronics, film-making, animation, DJing, project management and other disciplines! Multimedia interactive installations call upon all our skills and experience to handle the entire project from conception to installation. In this area we aim to produce thrilling, dynamic pieces that challenge and question but that are inclusive and can be enjoyed by all. We feel that public art should be vibrant and fun - accessible and engaging general public, not just the arts community.
